Course Syllabi
My musicology syllabi are designed to cover three stages in undergraduate music education.
My syllabus for University Writing is also linked on this page.
Musicology Courses
The first course, “A Survey of Music Listening Practices,” is designed to introduce new students to diverse approaches to studying music.
The second course, “Introduction to Research in Musicology,” builds on the foundational knowledge that students gain in entry level courses. Students in this course learn about approaches to research within musicology and are guided through designing their own research projects.
Finally, “Children’s Music Education and Cultural Identity” is an advanced course on a specific area of musicological research. Students continue to develop their research skills through interdisciplinary and collaborative work.
University Writing
“University Writing” is a core undergraduate course that trains first year college students in academic writing.
