About Me

I am a doctoral candidate at Columbia University studying music education policy and practices within decentralized funding frameworks. From this area of focus, I stay informed about issues of pedagogy across educational levels.

My background in piano performance and musicology provides me with both practical and theoretical experience when teaching in a music department, while my background in mathematics and computer science allows me to draw on a more quantitative approach to assessing my own teaching and developing my own pedagogy.

I began teaching private piano lessons at age fifteen, a practice I’ve continued since then. This early and consistent teaching experience formed the basis for my continued love of teaching. With each new teaching experience in middle schools, high schools, and universities, I have developed pedagogical practices and values that create inclusive learning environments for all students.
